Allergy Friendly Mennonite Shoofly Pie (DF, TNF, PF, EF)
Molasses Mixture:
1 cup Dark Molasses
1/4 cup Unsweetened Applesauce (sub 1 egg- if you want)
3/4 cup boiling Water
1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda
Flour Crumble:
1 & 1/4 cup Flour
2 tablespoonfuls Shortening
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 Allergy Friendly Pie Crust Shell
Directions
Mix together boiling water, molasses, applesauce, baking soda in bowl and set aside.
Mix together flour, shortening and brown sugar until it makes a crumble.
Pour half the molasses mixture into the pie shell, add in half the crumble. Repeat. Put the remaining crumble on top.
Bake @ 375 degrees for approx. 35 minutes.
